Well, here are some pics I've been meaning to post. Tyler played in the snow for the first time a couple weeks ago......
Cinder is my cat. I've had her since I was in second grade, and when my parents moved this last summer she came to live with us. She is an outdoor cat and always has been, but we've always let her in the house just to snooze for a while. She just had to stay by the back door.
She came here and was doing fine, but the other day we saw her being let out of our neighbor's house. This kinda torked me, because she is my cat. We have a little insulated house for her outside with a heated bed and plenty of food and water. I assumed my neighbors thought she wasn't being taken care of and were trying to adopt her. Dean talked to them a couple of times about it, but I still felt like they weren't quite understanding our concern. So I went and talked to her myself today and asked them to not let her in their house anymore. Her reply was that Cinder just runs in her house without any coaxing and she just can't bear to let a cat in pain back out in the cold. Turns out my cat has arthritis and kidney failure. I knew about the first but not the other. She'll probably have to be put down soon... I don't know if that's the right thing to do or not but she is suffering. And she's at least 16 years old. needless to say, after the conversation with my neightbor I felt better about her being over there. Cinder chose them, they didn't choose her. But they're great people for being willing to let her in their home.
A lot of my friends have blogs, and I decided it looks fun. So now I have one, too! I have no idea how much I will write, or how many pictures I will post, but it will be a fun hobby for me. I spend a lot of my frree time on the computer anyway, so now I can do something a little more productive with my time.
I am really looking forward to Christmas. We just got Tyler's Christmas shopping done, and I'm so excited to give it all to him! We spoil him since he really doesn't get anything new all year long, and it is so fun. He is at a really fun age! Last year was fun, but he didn't quite understand what was going on. This year he is really into Disney's Cars, Winnie the Pooh, and cleaning tools. I know he will be super excited on Christmas morning!
Oh, and his FAVORITE song right now is Away in a Manger. Because it says "Lord Jesus." If I sang him something at bedtime that didn't say that in it he gets mad at me. It's the cutest thing ever! I think I'm going to have to sing it all year long, though. Good thing I like Christmas music!
