Just some updates....

Let me explain my last blog. There is this really awesome website called Mother Talk, which I discovered while surfing through other people's blogs. I found out about it from my friend's sister's blog (Thanks Amber!) and it is really cool. Basically, if you sign up they notify you when a new "book tour" is coming up. If you want to do it you reply and wait to see if they choose you. If they do, they send you the book for free! Once you do the book review on your blog, they send you a $20 Amazon.com gift certificate! Is that not the coolest thing ever??? So, that is that. I will be doing another one here soon, I'm just not sure when it starts.
In other news, I am now 12 weeks! YAHOO! I'm through the first trimester! I would post another pic but I'm not sure I look much different. I have felt much better than I did with Tyler, so that is a huge blessing. I'm still hungry all the time, and when I get hungry I start to not feel good. Therefore, I'm constantly eating. Yikes. One weird thing... I got sick on Wednesday at lunchtime... the first and only time. Aren't you supposed to get over feeling bad at 12 weeks?
Lastly: Dean, Tyler and I are going to Mexico again this summer on a mission trip! Dean and I went last year and left Tyler home, but this year we felt like he should go so we could be there as a family. I wasn't going to go beacuse of my pregnancy, but it will actually be a really good time.. I'll only be 23 weeks. Not too early or too late. I am excited but nervous, but I trust the Lord will take care of all of us. He has already taken care of the financial part through anonymous sponsers (Praise God!), so I know it is meant to be! For all who read this, please pray for us!

Book Review!!!

Ok, so I had the opportunity to review a book for a really awesome website (I'll explain later). The book is called The Working Woman's Pregnancy Book by Marjorie Greenfield (who is an obstetrician!). I know what you're thinking... I'm not I "working" woman. At least, not in that sense of the word. However, I have been a working pregnant woman before.... and really, who can tell me that being a stay at home mom that is pregnant and has a 2 year old is not work???
Really, this book should be read by anyone who wants to have children, is already pregnant, or is even on their 6th child. I wish I had it during my first pregnancy... every question I've ever had was answered! Yes, even after having done it once already there were still many, many unanswered questions. I thought the other books I had read prepared me for having Tyler, but I was so surprised by things that happened! For example: after being in labor for 5 hours with Tyler, I decided I wanted an epidural. Bliss! however, Tyler's heart rate dropped and for about 10 minutes there was talk of doing a C-section. Not one thing I had read before said anything about that happening! While reading this book, I didn't think it would, either....but guess what?? It was in there! Where was this book 3 years ago??? Reading this book would have prepared me so much more! It addresses everything you could ever think of! I expected it to focus a lot more on the working part, but really it just addressed it and moved on. I didn't feel excluded because I'm a stay at home mom. It also gives a lot of tips on going back to work once you've had your baby, which I think will be helpful to working moms out there.
This is a very large book... and it reads like a textbook. They could seriously make this a college course. I love reading up on pregnancy and birth and all of that, so I really liked that it was so detailed. It seemed a little redundant at times, but in the end I appreciated how thorough it was. I can now get rid of every other pregnancy book I have on my bookshelf and put this one great book in its place. If you are pregnant, want to be pregnant, or even if you just plain want to know more about it, you need to get this book! Even if you're not a "working" woman!
Here is a link if you want to buy it:

8 weeks, 6 months,or twins????

Gosh... I swear I'm not pushing it out. It doesn't help that I had a bit of a gut to begin with and I just ate a HUGE dinner, but I didn't know I looked like this until I saw the picture. Yikes, it's sort of embarassing, but more funny!

Happy Birthday, Hubby!

I'd just like to give a shout out to my wonderful husband. Yesterday was his birthday! We spent the whole weekend doing birthday stuff with family and then he just happened to have the day off work yesterday. It was great. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful guy in my life. Growing up I always knew what I wanted in my perfect match, but never really thought I'd find him. "He" just seemed to perfect to actually exist. But, lo and behold, the Lord sent me someone who is truly my "perfect match" in every way. There is absolutely nothing missing. Sorry to get so sappy, but what better time to say all this than for his birthday? I love you, Dean, and I always will!

Tyler's ABCs

We were all at my Grandma's house tonight becuase my aunt is in town and she basically just came to see my mom's grandkids. Tyler and my neice Emma always entertain us at family functions, so after singing every song they could think of (at least three times), Emma started playing elsewhere and Tyler kept singing. Much to my surprise, this is what his version of the ABCs was like:
"A B C D E F G, H I J K, gotta-go pee, Q R S, T U V, W X, Y and Z, next time sing with me!"
We were all laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes! I didn't even know he knew that much of it on his own, and then he threw that in there! He is such a character.....

"Baby House"

So, I forgot to mention.... if you ask Tyler what's in mommy's belly, he says baby. Then he points at me and says mommy baby house. So, I guess he thinks I'm the baby's house. Hilarious, right?

Big News......!

Well, I was going to wait longer to say anything, and I don't even know how many people actually read this, but.... I'm pregnant! That's right! We're expecting #2 in mid December! I'm so excited! I know it's really early still (I'm only 6 1/2 weeks) but I'm already starting to grow out of my pants. Dean and I are pobably the only ones who can tell, but I already have a little baby bump. Ridiculous, right? People keep telling me you show a lot sooner with your second... I guess it's true. I figure we'll find out if it's a girl or boy the end of July or so. I'll try to keep updating this for those of you who actually read it. Keep us in your prayers!

Here's a little flashback for ya.... I figure I'll look like this again around October..... or at this rate a lot bigger....

He's Potty Trained!

I know people always say that boys are harder to potty train than girls, but Tyler was a lot easier than I thought. He has been #2-ing on the potty since last Sept. That's right, almost 8 months ago. He's been in pullups ever since, so I decided about a month ago to try the #1 issue... and it was a little rough but he's doing pretty good! He has tiny accidents every once in a while, but catches himself and runs into the bathroom. I think I've only had to clean up the floor twice, so it's usually not bad. I'm so proud of him! I can't believe how fast he's growing!

A Not -So-Happy Easter

Well, Easter was pretty interesting at my house. Dean and I were supposed to be at church at 8 a.m. to practice with the worship team, and Tyler was going to spend the morning at my parent's house. Unfortunately, he got a fever Sat night with really no other symptoms. I then spent the morning trying to figure out what to do...do I go to church as planned, do I stay home with Tyler, do I take him with me to church....? I finally decided since he was acting fine (and his fever was gone) that I would just take him with me and be late. then he said his ears hurt. Can I just say, I am SO SICK of spending every freakin holiday at urgent care (or just at home beacuse something is wrong)*? Turns out it's just a cold and he doesn't have an ear infection, so that's good. I was just so dissapointed the mornning didn't go as planned. I haven't sung on Easter since before Dean and I were married. I was really looking forward to it. We at least got to go see family as planned, and we did make it to the service on time.
I'm a pretty boring mom, too. I didn't even attempt to color eggs with Tyler... I was pretty sure it would have been a disaster. I didn't even do an easter basket for him because we wouldn't have had time on Easter morning to enjoy it. Thank goodness for grandmas who do easter eggs hunts and easter gifts!!

* Tyler's first and second christmas, my second mother's day, Tyler's first and second birthday, and now EASTER?????

Here is my precious little boy! We went and had his 2 year pictures done last week, and this one is my favorite. He turned 2 on Feb. 7th! I can't believe he is that old already. It really does go fast. It seems like he says and does more everyday. I just love him so much! I will post pics of his party eventually...
