Grass Trained

Tyler has been completely potty trained since last November. Sometimes if we're outside and it's an emergency and there is no potty in sight we'll take him to a secluded area to let him go, like in the weeds or something, where nobody would normally walk or anything. Tonight we were at the church softball game and Tyler was playing over on the playground which was a pretty good distance from the field, but I could still see him pretty well. After the game we went to Wendy's with some people from the team and I realized Tyler hadn't asked to go potty for a pretty long time. Our conversation was as follows:

K: Tyler, do you need to go potty?
T: No.
K: Why not? It's been a while...
T: I went at the park.
K: You did??? Where???
T: The grass.
K: Where in the grass???
T: There was wood and the toys were here and I went on the grass. (In translation, he stood on the wood that separates the sand from the playground from the grass)

I laughed pretty hard, even though I'm a little mortified at the mental picture of him standing on the side of the playground "watering" the grass. I wonder if anyone saw him??? I did explain to him that he should come tell me if he has to go potty and he shouldn't just go wherever. There was a porta-potty close by! I am thankful he didn't have an accident, though! Ah, the joys of raising boys.....

Ha Ha - That's pretty funny. I don't think any of my boys have ever gone outside... but I'm sure that would come in handy once in a while...
